CONSOLATION STEEPLECHASE Please note this race will not be divided. However, at the discretion of the Committee of the Club, should acceptances exceed the safety limit by not less than ten in number, the Club will add a race called the Consolation Steeplechase of $10,000 over a distance of 3200 metres to include horses which were balloted from the original race. Weights to be carried in the Consolation Steeplechase will be those declared by the handicapper for the original race provided that in the event of the topweight being less than the VRC minimum topweight requirements, the weight of all horses shall be raised by the same amount so that the above mentioned requirement is met.
